5 Ways to Make More Affiliate Profit

So you have your affiliate business up and running and it’s doing ok. So how can you actually maximise your success and make more profit within a relatively short period of time? Well here are five ways that you can maximise your profits:

#1: Use testimonials.

Your website will seem much more friendly and trustworthy if you can use a testimonial or several, where people give a (relatively) honest appraisal of the product that you want others to buy. They can give information about why it is useful, why it is needed and the difference it makes. If it is a luxury product then you can have an endorsement of just what the special offer is.

People like testimonials and even if they suspect that they may be slightly biased they will still, even on a subconscious level, feel that they have been told something by a friend or someone they can trust and so they are more likely to buy it.

# 2: Maximise your links to other sites.

The more you can link to other sites the more you increase your chances of being seen by the search engines, and the better your search engine rating the more likely you are to achieve sales; so always maximise your links. Don’t think that just because you did this last week you don’t have to do it this week; this is a continuous process. If you just sit back other people will have established those links and they are going to be the ones that get the sales.

#3: Try to offer customers ‘something else’.

That’s right, have some kind of promotion. When your customers buy something from you they will either get a free e-book on a relatively similar topic or a free set of articles etc. There is so much free material out there that you will easily be able to locate it, so the promotion doesn’t have to cost you anything. If people think they are getting ‘more’ for their money they are more likely to buy something.

#4: Send out a press release.

Online press releases have recently been shown to be quite effective ways of increasing the number of links that you have, since you can link to as many sites as possible using your release. Again, this can help to establish your profile on the internet and attract the attention of those vital search engine spiders.

#5: Offer an email instruction course on something relevant to your product.

The lessons that form this course should be quite informative and also have a relevance to your product or service. The lessons should be over a 7 day period so by that time you have established a trusting relationship with your ‘students’, and then they are more likely to make a purchase at the end of it. However, for this to be successful there has to be some effort put into crafting lessons that are actually valuable.

Nice post. But, I don’t really get #2.

How does linking out to other sites increase your chances of being seen by the search engines, or increase your rankings?

I always look forward to read new articles added to your blog. Not only that they are well written but they always contain a lot of information. Merry Christmas to you and Happy New Year Doug.

    F.A.O Chromate

Say if Doug added a link of your website at his website. And I had no idea your website ever excisted. I will be likely to visit your website through the link that Doug had added to his website than coming direct to your website.

… This link from Doug’s site will help my site, sure. But how does that increase Doug’s search engine rankings? Still don’t get it, sorry.

So, using your example, the link from Doug’s site helps my site. But how does that help increase Doug’s search engine rating? Sorry, still don’t get it.

The search engine will recognise his website as well as recognising your website when people are typing your web address. Do you get it now if not I am sorry I really cant explained it ina better way.

So you’re saying that because there is a link from Doug’s site to mine, every time a user types in my web address, Doug’s site gets some kind of credit, as it’s linking to me? I don’t think that’s the case. Could be wrong of course, but I’ve never seen any evidence to back that theory up.
