Facebook Value Makes No Sense
Facebook ad sales worldwide grew 104% in 2011 but are expected to climb just 52% to $5.8 billion this year and only 21% to $7 billion next year, according to eMarket.
Current profits less than $1 billion
Current Revenues $3.7 billion – $500 million directly from Zynga who runs some games that can be ported to any other platform ( estimates are that the numbers are more due to ads round the games)
Current Valuation $100 billion
Google Plus now a strategic product for Google and growing massively
So a business that is slowing it’s growth and now has a big competitor is valued on a 100/1 ratio
Looks like herd mentallity for investing will be back

Another bloody post…Panda and Google
Looks like the boys and girls at Searchmetrics have messed up:
This post that has gone everywhere on the web
http://blog.searchmetrics.com/us/2011/04/12/googles-panda-update-rolls-out-to-uk/
States that www.discountvouchers.co.uk has been wiped out by google, well its just not true and here is an image of our organic traffic from Google Analytics to show otherwise:
Seems like Searchmetrics, in a rush to get link love have made a PR disaster…..great links guys, but was it worth it? Makes me wonder what value there is in this data when it has so little effect on a sites traffic.
Anyway here are some independent ranking reports for the voucher sector:
And also the hitwise report
Seems like the guys ate TechWatch are a bit miffed too

- Signup as an affiliate of lastminute.com
- Resign as an affiliate of all the other travel sites
- Bid on the brand names of all other travel sites and direct it to Lastminute

Jason and Doug Got to Leicester – Phew
All day yesterday Jason Baker had to cycle slowly behind Doug, so that I did not stop and so he could admire the view. We eventually got to Leicester after 40 miles of cycling through some lovely English countryside and some nice back lanes ….as I did not let Jason decide what the route would be.

The cjblog should have some more phots probably with me with less clothes on if their corporate people let it show…if not I will show it….alas I did not get any nudes on Jason. Maybe we should be catwalk models…ha ha ha
Cheers Jason for a great day of fun….can we do it again?…..We need to persuade Carl White that well known Birmingham City fan who is the CEO of Valueclick that he needs to allow his staff to have more paid fun……and not the stuff you used to get upto in amsterdam Carl:):)
Think we need to leap into some hot tubs or something nice Jas:)
