Election Confusion

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Ahhhhhhh

Even though I have setup numerous business’s over the years I have always been a political lefty. Must be due to my childhood in the North East and my school with an Ofsted score of 25.

I have a simple belief that everyone has a right to education and health and hence a society that tried to look after the underpriveledged was good, even though tons of people abused the system. It was the principle of the matter.

So now an election looms and what do I do??

Labour

  1. seemed to have messed quite  bit up
  2. having a business with all the risks, the government seem to want to punish me if I am profitable

Conservative

  1. seem unable to add up, they reckon they can cut taxes and not reduce services
  2. historically filled with a lot of money grabbers
  3. slimey feelings….
  4. always feels that we will end up with a split society

Liberals

  1. Their treasurer has a brain
  2. Alas until proportional representation arrives they stand no chance of getting elected

Also I now live in a solid conservative seat.

So what do I do??

Conservatives haven’t said they would cut taxes, they’ve said they will keep taxes as they are. If labour win they will increase NI to claw back the money they’ve lost, if conservatives win they will leave NI as it is.

Paul – if they leave the NI then they need to find £7 billion
