Google to buy Expedia – you are having a laugh

You got to be joking.
Why oh why would they do this? Expedia is a travel company in the real sense of the word.
It just does not fit with Googles business model…not as I see it anyway.
Google as a business lives off real companies having online wars to get eyeballs. They don’t care where the traffic goes as they make as much as possibel from the visitor
Please can some explain the rationla here

I agree. Besides,
1)EXPEDIA is a scam (Source: http://www.expedianews.com) and might hurt Google’s reputation, 2) Google might need to deal with the mess EXPEDIA is leaving behing by cheating travelers.
Doug, I can’t see them buying Expedia, sounds like too much hassle for a corp like Google BUT I can see them buying /creating a Travel meta search engine which they can use to generate advertising revenue, after all Yahoo has farechase and it’s travel portal.
