Growing food on trees

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Thought for the day

Currently oil supplies all the energy to allow farming to exist in most countries. Basically supplying crops that grow flat, like oats and wheat. Nature wants to grow bushess and trees, so man spends energy to stop this happening. Most of Europe was originally forest.

Trees and bushes actually produce more food per acre than flat fields. Obvious really as they have more height.

So as we start running out of oil, farms will no longer be fields, but forests and bushes…..ironically that is what nature wants them to be. Strange eh

If you want to no more try this

We also need trees to make paper, so I’m with you on this Doug. Slight problem, we also need looaads of electricity to produce the ancient form of newscasting. Spose you never buy them? Bad luck against the magnificent Chelsea!!!
