Nice post Doug, go get 'em!

It would be great if the Networks and Agencies ever sorted this out, but I doubt they will.

Occassionally, I'll send a series of emails about non-negative matching off to them and there are some merchants who care more than others. The DSGi group are one of the ones who don't seem to be too concerned about the issue, through AWin, but there do seem to less broadmatched DSGi terms + Voucher Code type ads than there used to be. Expedia is one I have given up on as Buy.at don't seem to take any action against the sites you listed...

I have had my broadmatch Ads appear on Google, despite negative keywords 100% being in place, but Google don't seem to want to admit to this. I witnessed it myself a month back, sent it off to the Adwords team, and got a reply back saying that they couldn't replicate it. Had a screenshot as some sort of proof too. This becomes an issue when the networks may not give enough thought and investigation as to why your Ads are actually appearing.

I'm sure I haven't negative matched as fully as I should, but am more than willing to update my campaigns wherever required if it's in the T&Cs.

Then you've also got the likes of Adcenter, with such a small box for negative terms (1024 chars?), that it's impossible to comply with all merchants anyway!

Cheers,

Yes that is us, we have had no dealings or contract with Pizza Hut for months now. If they wish to talk to us they have our contact details.

how about this one:
http://www.google.com/search?q=pizza+hut+coupons&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rlz=1R1MOZA_en___GB336&client=firefox-a

DiscountVouchers.co.uk/Pizza-Hut
aren't ASAP ventures - a company you're associated with - the company that run discountvouchers.co.uk, at the very least via Promotions.co.uk system?

Ah I see.

Wouldn't it be a great idea in that case for networks to release a negative list for all brands that have a search policy in place so that we cant fall foul of it due to the google.

Barry, if you add "voucher code" in broad match google would display your add for "random word + voucher code" but after a while they see that the ctr is too low and they stop displaying. For "merchantname + voucher code" the ctr is high enough, so the ads are displayed.

The page isn't long enough for the list in all honesty mate, as I am sure your aware.

Some of them are blatantly bidding on the merchant name within a longtails phrase. Some of them will blame it on broadmatch.

Broadmatch!! Funny how if I search for ;'random word + voucher code' ads dont appear. Maybe they have 'random word' as a negative in their campaigns ;)

This has been going on for a long long time and has never be and never will be sorted IMO
