9-11 good for some people

Who Profited from 9/11?

The attack on the U.S. on September 11, 2001 was one of the most tragic days in American history. After 9/11, the world changed. For the better for some………

The Carlyle Group, a private equity investment firm and defense contractor is well connected to the Bush family, since former President George H.W. Bush (as well as James Baker III) is an advisor and has vested financial interests.

The U.S. State Department has stated that it is unable to account for approximately $1.2 billion paid to DynCorp International, the largest contractor working in Iraq. This money was provided for the training of the Iraqi police. DynCorp received an additional $1.1 billion contract to train police in Afghanistan. DynCorp, for its part, was to recruit U.S. police trainers, build facilities, and provide room and board for Iraqi recruits. Unfortunately, these goals have not been completely met and many believe that most of the money has gone straight to the contractor’s profit margin. Despite a history of questionable or illegal activity, DynCorp continues to be given billions of dollars to complete critical programs that have been outsourced to profit making companies.

Halliburton is a corporation that specializes in energy, oil and military contracting. In 2001, Halliburton received a contract from the Department of Defense to supply “emergency services” to the Pentagon. The contract process followed proper procedures, with Halliburton outbidding four competitors. However, the contract is considered by some to be a total scam. A contract such as this one in which Halliburton is to provide “emergency services” to the Pentagon creates a huge financial windfall, worth billions, under one explicit circumstance. If a major war erupts, the requirement for “emergency services” will inevitably be substantial. Ironically, in case of war, Halliburton cannot provide many of the services, at least not immediately. Naturally, other work can be completed, including work in the oil fields. As a result, the Iraq war has been worth billions of dollars to Halliburton. The Pentagon continued to supply Halliburton with work once the war broke out, claiming that Halliburton is the only company qualified to complete the necessary tasks.
