Valueclick/Comission Junction are they changing for the better

Well after having spent the afternoon in the pub with CJ and Valueclick being bribed to say something nice about them:) Over the years I have slagged them off in public and to their face, so now I may start having to say they may have started getting things right.

Over the years I have numerous converstaions with the Directors of Valueclick/CJ/Search123 telling them what is wrong with their business…..mainly revolving around the subject that they were awful at adapting and being willing to engage with affiliates. I will exclude Search 123, Petro/Jane /Roberto and the others, from this as we have always found them much easier to deal with. As we had sent Valueclick as a company, probably close to US$100 million in business I felt if they were treating us badly then they were probably treating most people badly. This culminated about a year ago when I made a decision that in future any business we could give to any other company than VC we would. Shame, but I got bored of the rubbish promises.

We have always kept talking because I like them as people, and I hope they like me. Well CJ recently employed Jason Baker, who was in the army (royal marines ?? ) you know:

The guy actually came to see us and take us for lunch, fall off chair, and continue to call us about ideas. So today we agreed to give them another go, may have been the beer:) No gaurantees Jason that we will actually send any traffic as we may not be any good any more, but atleast I can tell people you are willing to try and look after them. I also talked to Carl White, again and had a good laugh, if you don’t know who Carl is then I will help….he is a Villa fan…. Carl is a bright guy and it’s nice to see someone within the corporate rubbish that understands. But remember he is not that bright or he would support a proper team.

So if you have fallen out with CJ in the past, then call Jason and ask him for some help. He will atleast try to help you….if you don’t want to do business with them atleast say yes to the food and beer:)
