My dirty little admission about Brexit

My dirty little admission about Brexit

As many people know I was very pro Europe as I simply believe anything that has a noble desire to connect people and make them closer is a great idea, even with all the issues.

As the votes were being made I watched the markets all saying it would be very close but remain would win, but the bookies offering 5 to 1 to leave. So removing emotion I bet as much as I could on LEAVE, so lots more than £10. The  odds were simply way out of kilter with what the markets were saying.

Anyway strange that whilst I was emotionally loosing, my bank account was filling……

The strange thing I noticed is that many very smart people were obviously not betting in a definite arbitrage in the markets even though some sites were reporting it ( http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-06-22/something-strange-emerges-when-looking-behind-brexit-bookie-odds )

Most people who read this blog are in startup or startup funding world so what happened to grasping opportunities?

Afterwards it is strange is that I feel by benefiting from something that I did not agree with happening…it is very interesting how one feels about that in themselves. But then is this not every bank was doing on the day and also so many companies do on a daily base.

I recently talked about this with a friend and he said he made a bet too but he did not want people to know that he had profited from it…he too vote REMAIN. Was it better to have profited as many always do in turmoil and be quiet about it or not……

I will think on this
